I'm looking at this beautiful vintage tea towel for this week's inspiration. It's Irish linen and perfect for a shabby chic look. Although it's free of holes, it has some stains that make it perfect for a cutter. I seriously doubt if these stains will come out and they do compromise the look of the piece. I think it may be paint! You have to wonder what people are thinking sometimes. But I'm not here to judge so I will wash it and see what happens. Hopefully, I can come up with a piece of the floral graphic big enough to use as an embellishment for a handmade tote bag with vintage style!
TIP: When I wash damaged linens, I don't go to any great lengths to remove stains. I don't want to run the risk of compromising the fibers. I simply use Tide with dry bleach and a vinegar rinse. What doesn't come out in the wash is simple cut around!
